JB's, Dudley
19th July 2002

Now this is a rock venue.  A huge hall and great sound, plus a stage up at head height.

During the soundcheck I got a nice surprise when Toby said "This is for Nige" before playing 'Weight Of The World' a song I have enquired about earlier in the day.  Nick also played a song possibly called 'Oh, Carol' which Roger and Matt joined in with.

During his support slot, Ricky Warwick said that 'Toby was rocking like a motherf***er' and that it was a great show.  The Almighty singer was not wrong.

Tonight's' show was a good one, the crowd were encouragingly loud and the band looked to be enjoying the place.  Roger had a few problems with his guitar (but much worse was to come at Peterborough).  Nick very kindly shouted out the chords to 'Unwind' while they were playing the song (see the 'Guitar' section).

The guest singer on 'Too Much Too Young' was great, he could sing well and he know the words (I've forgotten his name though!)

During 'Young Gods' and 'Kickin' Up Dust' Toby let the audience sing a bit more than he had at the previous shows.
